In an interview with SELF, Swanepoel opened up about her childhood growing up in South Africa. She says that growing up there and seeing her parents work hard gave her the attitude and mindset she has today. "I saw my dad wake up at 4 every morning to milk the cows. I'd put on my overalls and gum boots and follow him around. Growing up surrounded by so much life and death and realness shaped my personality. Africa is not for wussies. It's in our culture to be hard workers."

Swanepoel told InStyle that she likes to vary her meal's portion sizes. She says that depending on the meal and the time she's eating, she will switch up how light or heavy her food choices are. "One meal in the day will be lighter than others, probably during lunch I will [eat something] heavier so that my body has time to burn it off. Night-time is something lighter, and I will always have a big breakfast."

In her interview with The Cut, Swanepoel was asked what her biggest health and wellness tip was. Her answer was cutting out coffee. "Before I got pregnant, I was feeling my energy levels go up and down all the time," she explained. "If you replace coffee with a decaf tea or hot chocolate, it's a good way to reset your energy levels."
