Dentists Gloria Pei Cheng Shih and Lawrence Tsu Liang Lau have doubled their money in six years with the sale of their Vaucluse home for about $20m.

The dentist couple bought the 1920s harbourside manor at 22 Wentworth Road — which had already been transformed by BKH Architects in an interesting fusion of old and new — for $9.3m in 2015 via Pillinger principal Brad Pillinger.

And sources said Pillinger had a hand in the off-market sale this time round, though he refused to comment when contacted by the Wentworth Courier tonight.

The couple operate Sydney Laser Dental Care in Pyrmont and have three children.

The luxurious residence is on an 853 sqm corner block and has gun-barrel views over Sydney Harbour.

The four-bedroom home has three bathrooms and a double garage.

There are elegant formal rooms, resort-style gardens and a huge lower-level retreat with home theatre.

The glass-framed extension to the original residence created open-plan living areas and a beautiful master retreat.

The dentists bought the property from Julianna Deeb, wife of Clayton Utz partner Steven Klimt.

They’d bought it in 1999 for $2.55m, but engaged BKH for the redesign ahead of the 2015 sale.
