Oprah Winfrey is one of the world’s most inspirational celebrities. Born into poverty in a small town in Mississippi, Winfrey moved several times during her childhood and eventually relocated to Chicago as a young adult where she got her start as an early morning talk show host. In 1986, after just three years of living and working in Chicago, Winfrey became the host of her own hour long talk show, The Oprah Winfrey Show. The show went on to enjoy a 25 year run and helped Winfrey become one of the richest and most well known people in the world. While Winfrey’s rags-to-riches story is certainly a rare occurrence, it definitely shows what can be done when hard work and talent work together. Here are quotes from Oprah Winfrey that will inspire you.
5. “I’ve come to believe that each of us has a personal calling that’s as unique as a fingerprint – and that the best way to succeed is to discover what you love and then find a way to offer it to others in the form of service, working hard, and also allowing the energy of the universe to lead you.”
To put to simply, we all have something to offer the world – and in order for our offerings to reach their full potential we must work hard and stay focused.
4. “Breathe. Let go. And remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure.
Although many of us often get too caught up living in the past or worrying about the future, Winfrey suggests that the present is what we really need to focus on.
3. “We can’t become what we need to be by remaining what we are.”
Change and growth are essential ingredients in the recipe to becoming the best version of ourselves.
2. “Self-esteem comes from being able to define the world in your own terms and refusing to abide by the judgments of others.”
Winfrey suggests that we each hold the power to determine how we feel about ourselves; regardless of how other people choose to label and define us.
1. “The more you praise and celebrate your life, the more there is in life to celebrate.”
A positive attitude will only breed more positivity, so it’s best to seek the good in every situation.
